Supreme Court Update: Christian broadcasters ask Supreme Court to hear their religious freedom case

Attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom and Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case of religious broadcasters challenging government officials’ discrimination against their speech by charging them exponentially higher rates to stream music online than secular National Public Radio broadcasters.


Washington pregnancy center seeks relief from illegal investigation by WA attorney general

Last month, Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys represented Obria Pacific Northwest (PNW) pregnancy center challenging Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson for singling them out because of their life-affirming views through an unconstitutional and unlawful investigation into their privileged records and materials. In total, Obria PNW submitted over 1,500 pages worth of information detailing the pregnancy center’s operations and affiliations. The demand was unreasonable and clearly targeted them for their pro-life stance, which is why they decided to sue.


Youth ministry sues OR officials for stripping funding because of its faith

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed a federal lawsuit early this month against Oregon state officials on behalf of a youth ministry that was denied access to state grant funding because it asks the employees and volunteers to sign a statement of faith. 71Five Ministries is asking the court to protect its freedom to work with like-minded individuals who share and live out its religious beliefs and mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through various youth mentorship programs.
